My Siblings

What is a family? For me a family is a very important part of my life. Not only binding through a blood line but also the family always stand beside and support you all the time, bad or good time.

My nuclear family which consists of 6 persons including me. My family is important as my siblings. I think I am lucky enough to have two brothers and one sister. I am the first born and described as the leader and right hand of my mother especially, I guess that has made me mature just like my parents to beard much responsibility. Such as whenever my mom was not home it was my responsibility to take care of my little brother. I should feed and bath him etc.

My brother who is one year different than me is in grade 9 at 252 Junior High School. His name is Khalif. He is very shy around other people especially in a new environment, but he is an observed person. He likes soccer as much as I do; he is tall enough and he also wear glasses since he was in a third grade. He has an oval face with a nice smile and big feet. Even though his personality is different with mine we have some similarity such as annoying our little sister , we like to draw comics and funny faces on each other’s book, and play our toys pretending they were alive (that is when we were still young though >.<). People think that he stays calm and cool but behind his so-called-coolness he acts silly and weird. My sister, Hanaan, is in grade 6 at Tiara Private Primary School which is located near 252 JHS. She is totally the opposite of me; I am more of a tomboy who likes to get my head stuck in a book while she is the girly one at home with comb in her hand and cute hair accessories. She is more of a girly-girl who likes to spend hours on her hair and looking at the mirror while I lay down my bed listening to the music and reading books. She has a beauty spot on her cheek that makes her lovely face. She has short wavy hair and a fair skin. She also wears glasses since she was grade one. Even though it is strange for me to have a sister who has different hobbies but she is a good listener. Sometimes she listens to my story while combing my long hair. She would do anything for me and stayed up late just to talk to me. She also learns to love books and try to take care of them. Well, actually I have a bad habit which is asking for help from my sibling like a little boss. Sometime, my mother got angry because I acted bossy to them. The three of us are wearing glasses. I think it is hereditary from our parents, but I have to confess though that my reading habit is also worse my eyes.

My little brother is called Hafiz and he is ten years different than mine. He is still in a kindergarten at Tiara school, just like Hanaan’s school. We have the same star sign. He is very hyperactive just like me. He has the same personality as me such as standing out to the crowd and we like to draw pictures. When we were small we have many soft toys. We like to keep our self busy by playing alone when nobody was around. Hafiz is very cute with big eyes covered by long eyelashes. He has a round face with the cutest smile in the family. He also has big belly and big thumb toes. He likes to dance as much as I do and quickly follow the rhythm. He is easily socializing with other people even though he just met them. Each of us has unique personality, but we somehow look alike in such a way, when we gather the whole room will become noisy and quite silly not to mention the mess we make. I love them even when they annoy me, we are still a loving family.

Most of the time I would say that I want to get away from them but when I really did left them I feel so lonely without their warmth and it makes me want to come back home as soon as Saturday come. Leaving in the dorm makes me realize how much I miss them and makes me wonder about what they are doing. Everyone needs family as much as I do.

My unforgettable moment in MH Thamrin

Well I think my best moment in MHT is every moment in MHT, but since it has been 5 months and I think is too long to write my life in the past 5 months. Haha >.< well my favourite moment is when we, the student of MHT made a movie for English assignment. It started when Mrs Desi announced that we have a special and exciting assignment and that is making a movie. My movie crew are Lindy, Radhi, Ayu F, Mega, Dinda, Aris, Vinny, Brolin and Nazirah. We didn't have time to write a script because the next week we were writing exam so we only choose the script writer and director. The director is Aris, the script writer are Lindy and I, and the cameraman is Mega. During the holiday, Lindy and I made the scripts and when we all meet again after the long holiday we choose a script which was called "The Old Iron"
The story was about action adventure which was completed by mafias and seven friends. One of the children wrote a story about the mafias and when the mafias found out, they try to kill him. So the mafias send a spy which was one of the children. They all try to find their friend and found themself trap and got the mafias to the police.
In the story, I played as the mafia boss or X, Mega as the mafia or Y, Nazirah as the mafia or Z, Aris as Peter or the kid who wrote the novel, Lindy as Claire, Brolin as Milo, Vinny as Trissa, Radhi as Eric, Ayu as Chloe and Dinda as Jane.
It was a long process in making the movie but we have fun. We all started shooting a week before the we hand in our assignment. The first day of the shooting, we were going over and over the script in class.I was handling the camera because Mega was having lunch. I like the part when Brolin was acting holding a phone talking to Aris. Then we went outside the school to take a shoot. We need a place which looks like the mafia's hide out, so Ayu and Lindy found a place near school. That place was perfect for the hide out, it was full of old and unuseful cars. That place have an owner and we have to get a permission first. It takes us 4 days to shoot the movie. There were many mistakes which was funny for behind the scene, example when the mafia attacked the children which included fighting.
After we finished shooting, we were trying to edit the movie and so Lindy, Ayu and Dinda edit the movie.
The hand in our movie in time and Mrs Desi played our movie infront of the parents. I don't know how to act, happy or excited or proud of my friends. This was one of the unforgettable moments I had in MH Thamrin and i will never forget about it.

a special world

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

What goes on in the dormitory!

Our school is a new school and we have a dormitory system which is divided into boys dormitory and girls dormitory. The dormitories are located infront of the soccer field and next to the soft science classes.
Most of us, whose home is far from school have to live in the dorm, but starting January 2010 it is a must for all of the student to stay in the dormitory. Since some of us stay far from the school, we could occupy the dorm unofficially last August. I join into the dorm the beginning of September when it started in Holy Month, Ramadhan, my Mom suggested me to be in the dorm.
In ordinary school, students head to go home, but we went to the dormitory instead. In the girl dormitory, we have a dormitory mother or Residence Assistance, her name is Ibu Echi but we call her Bunda. Bunda is one of the special people in my life and she is like our second mother. She is very special because she care and treat us like her own children. Once when I was ill, she took care of me like a nurse and reminded me of drinking my medicine to get well. Everyday she wakes us up and remind us to pray at the mosque. She greets us everyday whenever we are leaving to school or heading to the dormitory. She makes sure that we eat our food properly, including to eat vegetables. She also checks on us before going to bed, makes sure that we have done our homework and sleep instead of staying up late. She also reminds us to drink our medicine or vitamins to keep us healthy. She makes us do the rule of living in the dorm without feeling it hard to us to apply the rules.

In the dorm, each room are filled with two persons. My roommate is Aishanura from class of X-3, we call her Icha. We both stay in room 217 in second floor. Before we were in room 217, we got room 218. As the bathroom was leaking, we had to move to room 217. In each room there are two bunk beds with matress together with pillow and bolster and two big cupboards. All the rooms have aircon, its remote and the fixed curtain. The rest such as bed sheet, bed cover, study desk, bucket, shoe rack, hanger, broom and brush, we should bring them by ourself. We could make and decorate our rooms as comfort as we could.

I remember the first time I asked Icha to be my roommate. We get along very well, we always share story and sometimes do our homework together. Eventhough she is younger than me, I think she is more mature than me. Icha has the same personality like me. The way she laugh and tell jokes makes Dhata, Indira and me fall to the ground trying not to cry. Dhata (X-3) and Indira (X-3), stayed next door in room 216. We always visited each other and discussed about our homework to the hottest story in MHT.
After we rested for a little while from all the hard work of studying, we took a shower and headed to the mosque and pray. Most of us brought books to wait for Isya prayer time and some went back to the dormitory. After Isya, we have dinner and went back to study. Most of us stay up late to study for the next test or just doing our assignment. Some of us study in a group and some prefer study alone. When we were tired of studying we could discuss about our day or the other topic that interesting for us.
The dormitory is like a second home to me and the rest of the students. We are like siblings and everyone knows each others personality. You can’t hide your feeling in here, the other kids will always figure it out. Sometimes we sat in a group and share what we feel and have a little feast and Bunda would come and knock on our door joining too. It kills me loosing them all, just like last holiday, EId Fitr. I have kept on thinking about my friends. We are just like a big happy family who bind strong in togetherness to achieve our dreams, to fill our time as a teenager in a good way living in the dorm.
When you get used to the fact that your friends surrounded you, you would not feel lonely. All of a sudden you will miss your family instead of them. That’s why we have to keep balance in life.

My school life

School is everything for me from friends and lessons to learn. When I get to MHT I feel like I have left JHS in bad memory and soon will have new friends and new experience. I have been moving to 6 different schools since Primary School up to now. But I know MHT is one of my favourite schools. MHT is a huge school, nice and good facility in a compound and that is how I was attracted when I signed up. I never thought that the subjects would be hard but I have learned to like it. Adapting in this school is hard, escpecially when you have some kind of trauma in the past. MHT is fun in every ways. I love the teachers, they know to teach well and to attract student to study. I love my friends there. We are only 62 students and we get well each other quickly. We are like a new big family.

The school subjects make us want to faint. But I try to like them though. For example Maths, I used to hate it but now I like Maths. Because if I compare it with Physical Science I prefer Maths. When I found out that there would be Ju Jitsu lessons, an art martial, I feel more excited. When I feel tired or angry I will put all my emotion through Ju Jitsu Lesson. I didnt expect school like that, this is a new experience to me, I thought it would leave the burden I have since Junior High. But it never did, now I have to study harder for the sake of my future. I have lots of friends in back such as Vika, Bunga, Michelle, Icha and Aisyah.

The reason why I choose to school there the school subjects are not that much which made us focus on the hard science subjects. We have History, Art, Music, English, ICT, Sociology, Religious Education and Ju Jitsu as soft science and the hard sciences are Chemistry, Physical Science, Mathematics and Biology. My favourite subject in Soft Science are Art and English; for the Hard Science, my favourite subject is Chemistry.
The other reason why I want to be in this school is the dormitary system. I always wanted to live in the dorm. Then the good facilities the school have such as the indoor swimming pool, the soccer field, the library or the theater room. This school makes me feel like I am in the famous and country. Well, this is only the beginning, the first path to achieve our dreams in the future. Lets make this school proud to have us as a first generation of MHT. No matter what I love school, there will always be spices in life especially being a teenager who stay in a dormitory with good friends.
